About Us

Owner and designer Jill Magnuson has been sewing for more than 20 years. She started by designing pillow cases, window treatments and Halloween costumes. Her love of fabric led her into her first quilt store more than 10 years ago, and she’s been busy designing and creating quilts ever since that day.

She started Dragonfly Quilts, LLC so she could use her passion for quilting to help preserve memories for individuals and families. Jill uses t-shirts and other items and turns them  into treasured keepsakes. She has also created dozens of custom designed quilts, working directly with individuals to meet their specific needs. These custom designed quilts are used to commemorate a wedding, anniversary, birth of a baby, or birthday. They can also be used to celebrate a milestone event, such as a high school or college graduation.

One of Jill’s favorite sayings is, “We do not own the earth, we borrow it from our children.” In an attempt to reduce and reuse whenever possible, Jill uses fabric remnants and scraps to create coordinating pillowcases and reusable shopping bags. Other fabrics are donated to local organizations, or used in quilts that are donated to various charities.

Jill works from her home studio in central Minnesota, which allows her to manage her work schedule with the schedules of her two teenage boys.
